BOUTIQUE BED & BREAKFAST Pheasant Lodge and Pheasant Suite are situated in the grounds of the non-working Balls Farm. The 17th century Farm House is surrounded by fields and wildlife and located less than two miles from the centre of Colchester and Essex University, a mile from the village of Elmstead Market, Beth Chatto Gardens and only 15 miles from Harwich. It is on the edge of Constable Country. Guest facilities are completely separate from our own, affording guests a level of privacy not normally associated with Bed and Breakfast accommodation. The Lodge is completely separate from the main residence with its own entrance and parking, the 55 square metres of luxurious ground floor accommodation includes an en-suite bathroom, robes, heated towel rail, two double beds, settee, desk, breakfast bar, china, cutlery, glasses, bottled water, biscuits, fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, flat screen TV, DVD player and wireless internet access. It also has a kitchen area and a microwave is available, upon request. Pheasant Suite is brand new with its own entrance and parking. The sitting room has a settee, flat screen TV, DVD player, IPod player, china, cutlery, glasses, bottle water, biscuits, fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, a breakfast table overlooking the fields and a bedroom with a beautiful ornate queen size French bed, which looks out onto a private sunny courtyard. The fully tiled bathroom has an enormous bath for two, separate shower, heated towel rail, robes etc. Breakfast can be served in the courtyard on warm days. Breakfast is full English, (19 different types of local sausage) smoked salmon, berries, posh porridge, luxury muesli, warm spiced fruit salad, yogurts, fresh juice, toast, croissants etc. Fresh local produce used whenever possible. All served on beautiful china and cut glass. Our aim is to create an experience, not just a visit.
